As Bought

June 2021 - we eventually purchased Church Field after 4 collapsed chains had hindered us for 9 months. We were challenged by couples splitting up and no longer purchasing their flat at the bottom of the chain, moving onto a house sale in the middle of the chain with cess pit problems losing their buyer and through to a couple with trouble getting their equity mortgage approved to buy our property at the top of the chain. None of these issues had anything to do with the property we were selling or indeed the property we were buying. Nine months it had taken us to get through to completion. Thank heavens for the kind people who were selling to us and were prepared to wait.

The photos show the house as we took it over, it was an executor sale and we offered to complete the clearance when we negotiated a price with the executors so everything was left for us to clear out. This shows what was there and the potential we saw for the property on the Kyles of Bute.

The house, before the chimney, which was dripping water indoors, and the heavy gate were removed.

The room between the house and the garage - now called the hose room by us.

The lounge as they had it before it was cleared and the carpet removed. That's a back door you can see, leading outside.

The downstairs bedroom behind the lounge, now called Bedroom 3 by us.

The bathroom between the two larger downstairs bedrooms. It is a Jack & Jill Bathroom but now called Ensuite 3

The veneer on the back of the spiral staircase and how it was curling and peeling. It had to come off.

Upstairs bedroom on the church end of the house, now Bedroom 2

The main bedroom upstairs, now called Bedroom 1

In a wardrobe, they had the place to themselves for a year

The garage needed a little clearing as well!
