Travellers Tales

Tales of the travels of Ray and Wendy, flitting round the world having fun and visiting family. Having decided to be wanderlusts the world was hit by COVID-19 and plans put on hold but now, as the world starts opening up to us we are eager to start seriously exploring.

June 2023: Ten days in Portugal with 2 days in Lisbon and then up to Porto for a week cruising on the Douro with Viking. The finest river cruise we have done yet.

Jan - Mar 2023: Eight weeks of adventuring on the other side of the world as we travel to Australia on our grand adventure, but not including New Zealand as was originally planned.

We ended up touring from Melbourne (SE Australia) to Cairns (NE Australia) and back, then from Sydney (E Australia) along to Perth (W Australia) and up to Kalbarri (WNW Australia) and down to Augusta (SW Australia). This is the chronicle of that journey from start to finish; from east to west; from Rachel to Adrian and home.

June 2022 going to meet my grandson Sean / Shun for the very first time. He is now almost 3 but covid-19 kept us from meeting him earlier. This is the fuller diary of quarantine and holiday.

January 2022 aboard Cunard Queen Elizabeth from Southampton to Cadiz (to Seville), Valencia, Cartagena, Malaga (for Granada and the Alhambra), Lisbon and back to Southampton. We missed Gibraltar due to weather supposedly.

November 2021 aboard Viking Kadlin along the Danube from Passau in Germany through Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and into Budapest in Hungary.

May 2021 aboard Viking Venus around England's shores for a week. Viking's first cruise back after the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
